May the beauty of Lessons and Carols of Christmas flow over you and enter your soul. Hear the story of God’s saving love for us all as told in scripture and carols. King’s College Cambridge began its annual tradition of Nine Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve 1918 when the world had been ravaged by war and pandemic had begun. In the 1800s some church leaders started similar services to encourage people to attend church as hymns were becoming popular. This service now is a part of Anglican/Episcopal worship.
