The Coalition of Congregations of Binghamton

The Coalition of Congregations of Binghamton began in the fall of 2025 as a loose gathering of area faith communities who worked with the unhoused population of the City. Since the inaugural meeting, the coalition has met regularly to lean into our reason for gathering:
The Coalition of Congregations of Binghamton fosters and advances the wellbeing, dignity, and respect of those experiencing housing insecurity (both housed and unhoused), by connecting resources to those in need, inspiring awareness within our congregations, and advocating within our contextual systems.
Congregations that regularly intend include:
- Armor of God Mission
- Christ Episcopal Church
- Divine Mission Ministry
- First Congregational Church (UCC)
- Islamic Society of the Southern Tier
- St. Francis Roman Catholic Church
- Tabernacle United Methodist Church
- Temple Concord
- Trinity-Memorial Episcopal Church
- Unitarian Universalists Congregation of Binghamton
- United Presbyterian Church
With the City of Binghamton’s announcement of the “Open Doors, Safe Spaces” initiative, the Coalition of Congregations has been asked to assist with the rehousing effort through furnishing and setting up apartments for those currently experiencing street homelessness.
